The Saturday walk you didn't have to organise

An easy park walk, a dog-friendly café and five other dog owners to share it with.

Some of the best friendships start with "what's your dog called?". The nod on the morning walk turns into a chat, the chat turns into a regular walk, and before long you know the owner's name as well as the dog's.

We make that happen on purpose. We put six dog owners in a group chat on Friday, send you the route and the meeting point, and pick a dog-friendly café for the end. You bring the dog.

Step one

It starts on Friday, with a photo of your dog

The group chat opens the day before the walk.

Make your dog your profile picture and say hello with their name. That's it. By Saturday morning you'll know every dog in the group, so you'll know exactly who to look for at the gate.

We post the meeting pin and the route in the chat, and if you're running late you just say so.

The walk

An easy hour, at a talking pace

Wide paths, open space and room for the dogs to say hello, at a pace that leaves plenty of breath for chatting.

We meet at a well-known gate near public transport, so nobody spends the first ten minutes lost. The loop is planned and takes about an hour, leads on all the way. It ends at a café that welcomes dogs, where the good chat happens. Coffee's optional, and you pay for your own.

The shape of it

How the morning runs

  • Friday

The group chat opens. Make your dog your profile picture and say hello with their name. We post the meeting pin and the route.

  • 10:30

Meet at the gate. You'll recognise the dogs from the chat. First one there says so in the group.

  • 10:40

An easy hour's loop on the route we've sent. Leads on, chat flowing.

  • 11:40

The dog-friendly café. Coffee's optional, and it's where the good chat happens.

  • After

Carry on the conversation, or head home with a tired dog.

There's no host on the walk, and you don't need one. Six people with six dogs find each other easily, and the chat does the rest.

The group

Six owners, six dogs, every one of them socialised

Everyone enjoys the walk more when every dog is calm and every owner is in control. So we keep it to socialised dogs only, and we're strict about it. Sorry, but it's what makes the morning easy for everyone, dogs included.

Most people come on their own. That's the point: you meet new people, and your dog does the introductions.

  1. Socialised dogs only

Relaxed around people and other dogs on a lead, without lunging or barking.

  2. One dog per person

Every owner walks one dog, so everyone stays in control.

  3. Leads on all the way

Dogs stay on leads for the whole walk. No exceptions.

  4. Vaccinated and ready

Puppies must have finished their vaccinations. No bitches in season.

  5. Sign the waiver

You accept our dog walk waiver when you book.

  6. Your dog, your call

You're responsible for your dog at all times.

Afterwards

What happens afterwards

The walk is the start of it, not the end.

  • The group chat stays open

Keep chatting, recommend a groomer, plan a walk of your own.

  • Walk together again

You walk the dog every Saturday anyway. If the group clicks, book the next one and keep meeting the same faces.

  • First pick of the next one

Walkers hear about new parks and new dates before anyone else, and everyone from your walk is in Your People on PLY.
